Our Top Picks for Favourite Places to Bring Visitors in Kelowna & The Okanagan

As we all know, if you are a Kelowna or Okanagan resident, your spare rooms are most likely full in the Summer months. So what do you do with your guests? We have put together our list of our FAVOURITE PLACES TO BRING VISITORS.

Entertaining your out of town guests can be fun and stressful, so having a list of things to do is a great way to keep everyone occupied. So put your Kelowna tour guide hat on and review the following list of things to do in Kelowna and maybe you can even be a tourist in your own town as well.  It’s fun to have a staycation in Kelowna with or without out-of-town guests.

DARCY: I love taking guests to the DRIVE-IN! The Starlight Drive-In located in Enderby is fun for everyone…all ages!

DARRENMy favourite activity for newcomers to Kelowna is ARCADIA Virtual Realty Lounge (Virtual Realty). Such a great experience for all ages and it can be done in all weather conditions as it is indoors – if you haven’t gone yet….it is a MUST!

JENNIFER:  I enjoy taking visitors to the El Dorado Hotel and Restaurant – their Lakeside dining restaurant on the patio/boardwalk is stunning and a great way to show off our Kelowna vibe by sitting on Lake Okanagan watching all the kite surfers and boats go by.

KAREN: My choices are walking along Beach Ave in Peachland or hiking Pin Cushion Trail in Peachland.

JUSTIN: I like to show off Scandia Golf and Games. It is a classic Kelowna attraction and is an exciting place for fun-seekers of all ages.  Mini-golf, go-carting, arcade games, batting cages – with or without kids a great day spent.

KATELYN: My favourite thing to do with visitors is to take a bike ride down on the waterfront boardwalk, Lakefront Sports Centre has bikes to rent and you can people watch, eat from food trucks and take so many photos!

DANNY: I enjoy taking my guests and visitors for a scenic lunch at Quails Gate Winery – wine is wonderful, food is great and views are breathtaking….for sure a place people will not forget.

ROB: My favourite thing to do with visitors is to take them to the Okanagan Trestles for a cycle tour. This 80km tour takes you from the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail starting at the famous Myra Canyon, Kelowna to Penticton 80km.  You get 5 rest stops with food and drinks; and when you arrive in Penticton you will be greeted with live music, bbq, beer, wine, cider and more. A serious perfect Okanagan day.

CHRISTINA: My pick for favourite thing to do with visitors is bring them wine tasting to different parts of the Okanagan mostly everyones coming from flat Alberta so nice to show them views, bring them out to a nice patio and sip on some wine!!

KRISTIE: My pick is the Kangaroo Creek Farm in Lake Country! It takes a petting zoo to a whole new level. Not only do you get to see many different kinds of Kangaroos, there are birds, pigs, goats and many more farm animals! Obviously holding the baby Joeys might be my favourite part.

JENNY: My choice is WINE TASTING…which is quite self-explanatory!! I use the Kelowna Tourism WINE guide to let my guest review and choose where they want to go….I have a few favourites as well…Summerhill, Mission Hill and the Hatch just to name a few.

SHAUNA: Shopping is ALWAYS my  pick and we have some amazing places to shop in Kelowna. One of my favourite places to take visitor is shopping on South Pandosy. I love all the unique, local shops and I feel it is important to support local business owners.

If you are wondering what to do with your visitors and guests when they come to town…hopefully this list of our top picks will help. Our beautiful city is filled with some of the best things to do in BC and so be sure to get them to experience all we have to offer.
